So here's some awesome strawberry sauce I invented one night. It comes out all syrupy and sweet, but not sickeningly so. I call it...uh... Multi Purpose Strawberry Sauce!
Keep in mind all measurements are approximate, I've never actually measured it. If you're a cook, you might be better off eyeballing it yourself. These measurements will almost definitely work, though. Half a stick of butter About a cup of sugar 3-8 frozen strawberries (Use your own judgment, it varies a lot because there are tiny and giant strawberries.) A teaspoon or two of vanilla extract (Optional, varies according to personal taste.) Sprinkling of cinnamon (Optional, but tasty. Don't dump it in, just a couple shakes will do it.) I'd assume some sort of strong alcoholic beverage would mix in well (Untested.)
Start with a saucepan on low heat. Put in the ingredients in the order listed, stirring them together as they melt enough to allow it. Make sure you start breaking the strawberries up when they get soft so the whole things melt. It's done when it's a soup with chunks of strawberry in it, and it's hot. It's pretty versatile stuff. It would work great as pancake syrup, topping for something like brownies, something to put in ice cream, and whatever else.
Go wild.

Dear Todd,
Growing up in the Midwest, this was something all the mom's
made for their kids' and put into the school lunches--call
it Midwest Chocolate Peanut Butter. Some kids were rad and
put sliced bananas on their sandwiches too. I had a friend
who ate it exclusively on toast. Whip some up, add some
weird touch and presto, your own custom sandwich recipe. I
live in Los Angeles and love to share my recipes with you
all. :) X ~Robyn Hardisty (Agent 34-24-34)
MIDWEST CHOCOLATE
PEANUT BUTTER
(use as a spread for sandwiches, crackers,
whatever--makes a little over 2 cups)
1/2 cup butter,
real butter
1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup baking Cocoa (it's dry powdery
chocolate--in a box, by HERSHEY)
1 & 1/3 cups creamy peanut butter (I like SKIPPY, but
whatever)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
~Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in honey & dry cocoa until smooth. Remove from heat, stir in peanut butter and vanilla. Let cool for 20 minutes. Put into a Tupperware-like container with tight lid and refrigerate. It will solidify as it cools, and will be all peanut buttery texture in a few hours. Spread it on bread, or toast-- maybe throw on some sliced bananas too, just like the rad boys in Elementary school used too. YUM. @2007RKH
