Subject: Getting your dog out of a fight
 From:
 To: [email protected]

 Hi, Odd Todd!
I haven't been on your site in a while but when I come back I always read
through "What's Happening" because I love it. I read about poor little
Roscoe's encounter with that nastypants dog and you wrote that you didn't
know how to really get a dog out of a fight.

I don't have a dog (I have a cat! SCOOTER! He came in SECOND in one of your
holiday pet costume contests a couple years ago and won an automatic swirly
water bowl thingy! It was Scooter's shining moment! And mine!) but I had a
neighbor who had one of those Spuds McKenzie dogs that would always go after
 other dogs.

ANYWAY, her dog once got in a fight with another big dog and I certainly
wouldn't have gone anywhere near that emergency-room-visit-in-the-making
scene, but she did. And what she did was grab her dog by the hind legs and
pull it out of the scuffle.

What that effectively does is get your dog out of the mess without you
having to get your hands or arms anywhere near dog teeth.

I also think that woman should have paid your vet bill. It was not your
 fault or Roscoe's.

I dress Scooter up for more than Xmas--pretty much all holidays. Here he is
as the loathsome Sarah Palin (for Halloween!). He's even doing her wacky
 wink in the second shot!

Your site is the best. It always makes me laugh and smile.

Hope Roscoe is healing up well. He's one cute dog!

 Subject: Tuesday's ???

Hey Todd! I was thinking it would be cool to replace Tuesday's Recipes
with something along the lines of Tuesday's Craigslist Posts. I'm on
the Portland, OR Craigslist alot, and I find some of the weirdest,
most insightful, most poetic, hilarious postings while I'm browsing.
It would be cool to have people share stuff they found from other
cities' Craigslist pages. Maybe people could also share stories about
Craigslist-related experiences. I know alot of people who have funny
stories about times they placed or answered Craigslist ads. It's
something that I think alot of your site's visitors can relate and
 contribute to.

Just my two cents. Good luck finding a replacement for Tuesday's Recipes!

When you changed web templates it looks like you lost your favicon.  I viewed the page source and didn't see the code for it.

Just thought I'd bring that to your attention.

Hi Todd, have a question for you and hoping you can help me. I went to you site as I do every morning on Wednesday, April Fool's day to see what you did and watched the toon and saw the new site. Loved it. But now, I can't get to the new site no matter what I do. I keep getting the April Fools site. I don't know what to do. I've cleaned out my history dozens of times, restarted, didn't use my bookmarked page, everything I can think of to do but still can't get the new site. I even tried to get there on firefox, with no luck. Currently using the Windows internet explorer version 7. I can get to it at home using Vista...

Do you have any suggestions?

I'm a long time fan and disappointed that I can't see your new site except for What's Happening (my favorite part other than the live Roscoe cam). Is it cuz my software's too old? I get access at work and the State of Texas is pretty stingy about upgrading our software =-(. It's an old version of IE...maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I just wanted to thank you for all the laughs over the years. Keep up the good work.

Hugs and kisses to you and Roscoe!

Dear tOdd:
A good friend of mine, Andy, wrote this. I think its a very good idea and I wanted your opinions on it. I dont see any downside, do you?

thanks for the input,
Renee :)

What would you do if you received a check for 2 Million taxable dollars from the United States Treasury Department with just 2 stipulations?? Well now letís think.

1. You must buy a new car within the first year.

2. You must buy a new home or payoff your existing mortgage.

I dint know what you would do, But I would go right out and buy that new car, I think I would get a brand new Ford F150 or maybe a brand new GM dually and I would also buy a brand new car for my wife.

My mortgage would most certainly be the next thing I would pay off, then the one and only credit card that I have would be the next thing.

The money that was left over, well I would get into the stock market and start investing so I could either increase or maintain the wealth that I have just gained then I would quit my job and or forget about continuing my unemployment cause I would not need it any more, get my passport and travel to some places that I have only dreamed about, or instead of traveling, I think I would open that little garden shop I always wanted..

OK so I have done these things and just what exactly have I done?

Buy paying off my mortgage I have helped to reduce the banks problem of foreclosure and all the added expenses involved that the bank must pay for this single foreclosure.

I have bought not only one new vehicle but two, which has increased the auto manufactureís income and saved a few jobs in the process. And by making this a stipulation this means an order to ALL auto industries of over 200 million cars in the first year.

I have paid off my credit card and again helped to unclog the financial bottle neck which has paralyzed this nation.

I have made some investments granted not many but a few and this helps get the funds moving in the stock market which also helps get the flow of cash moving again.

I have quite my job, which opens another position for someone else who is unemployed.

I have decided not to collect my unemployment which leaves the State a few more bucks for the other guy who is unemployed and has to feed his family.

I will not need Medicare or Medicaid because I can pay for what I need now. Relieving state funds of another critical benefit open for another family.

I have purchased plane and or boat tickets so I can travel. This helps the travel industry and the Airways with their declining ticket sales.

When I open my little shop, I am not only creating another source of income for myself but I am creating a few jobs and revenue for the nation and the state.

So what have I done? I have helped get this nation back on its feet and with the money being taxable; well the Department of Treasury will see an immediate return on their payout of at least 25%.

So, to my Senator, Representative and President Obama, here is my proposal:

Give each American citizen over the age of forty 2 million dollars and tax them on that money received.

Forget about giving the large financial corporationís multibillions and never see anything change, they are too greedy to pass this bailout on to the public. And those that try just get tied up in red tape and have to pay out a few billion on the lawyers to prevent lawsuits from their own employees and suppliers.

If you want to see this nation turn around and get it going again then this is the way to do it. Get smart. By giving the large corporations a bailout, all you are doing is feeding a hungry giant with an insatiable hunger. Put the money where it will do the most good in the hands of the American citizen.

The US has an estimated 307 million people approximately  42% are at and over the age of 40 that is about  129 million people at the age of 40 and older times 2 equals 258 Million dollars,( give or take a few million, depends on if you are using a normal calculator or one from the IRS).

So my proposed bailout would cost just fewer than 275 million dollars, and would not leave unrealistic deficit for our Great Grand children to worry about. In fact for all the Billions that have already been paid out the cost of my plan would be a drop in the ocean even if it was used as an experiment to try. This nation would be in less financial problems just sending out these funds and see of it works, then it is trying to bailout these huge financial conglomerates. At least the money would stay in the US and not be sent to support the banks of foreign countries with all of the NEW private US accounts.
