Pictures for the Week

Hey! I took a bunch of pictures and stuff! Mainly from Yankee Stadium last night (my brother got awesome seats and I went with the nephews etc).

Last game at old Yankee Stadium etc (surprisingly emotional)--- so here they are!

First Roscoe! Of course! He insists on always being first! Wearing nephew sunglasses for all of 2 seconds... (note the tooth or lack thereof)

Apologies for the blurry photo. These dudes came into the subway car and literally starting doing flips and stuff. Acrobats on the subway. Was sort of nuts and scary. Got my camera out in time for the last move which involved taking the little dude and accidentally throwing him up too high and he smashed into the ceiling. There was a loud noise and everyone went, "Oooh...' He seemed woozy afterwards while collecting dollars.

Anyway, last night at Yankee Stadium!! Here's the ghosts of Yankee past in the outfield. 'If you build it they will come' style...

Lots of classic Yankees were there and people went nuts for them. Here's Graig Nettles heading to 3rd base.

Yogi Berra behind the plate. Apparently experiencing health effects from all his years of steroid abuse...

Reggie Jackson and Paul O'Neil in right field. I miss the Reggie bar...

Ay... Did you see a roast beef sandwich around here somewhere? Ay! I'm talking to you...

Babe Ruth's daughter was on hand to throw out the first pitch. (This is the last of these old school LED boards in a major stadium I'd think)...

Nephews made it down to the bottom of the aisle where they snagged Bernie Williams autograph. (The little one gave me his signed ball for a bday gift! :-) Coolio...

This guy had a whole agenda with like 20 signs. Stuff like... 'I Love You Stadium!' Twas an emotional night for him extra...

Here's one of these camera guys who shot fans for the big Jumbotron. Him spinning around would cause a wave of wavers...

Take that Tampa Bay Dickrays!

Costanza and Elaine. Questionable jersey calls...

This guy sung God Bless America. He did a nice job but it's gotta be weird to have dude all in his face that way...

Countdown to Kent Oberdork--- the only guy in the audience in a suit...

That dude center bottom is Derek Jeter's dad (yes our seats were awesome).
Sort of gotta be a little weird when a whole stadium is chanting 'De-rek Je-ter... De-rek Je-ter...' and that's like your kid...

As soon as the last out happened-- all these dudes in riot gear stormed the field...

They lined the baselines with their helmets and bats and were like, 'If you're drunk and feeling stupid.... We're sober and feeling like using a bat...'

Then the horses came so the people in the bleachers knew how serious they were. (Only one fan ended up running on the field and everyone cheered when he got tackled.)

I started looking at the faces of all the riot cops so I took some pics...

There's the new stadium looming from across the street...

Bye bye old Yankee Stadium! (on the way out people were dudes $20 for any ticket stub to the game. No I didn't sell mine. I didn't see any takers actually...)

'

And on the way home I saw this city philosopher scrawl on this newspaper box...

That's it!
ok bye!
