---------------------------------------------------------

Okay, this probably falls more accurately under the now defunct "Bad
Neighbors/ roommate" section, but it recently annoyed me again, so
I'll share it here.

Sophomore year I moved into an apartment with one of my buddies and
one of our other friends sorta tagged along (uninvited) on our
lease.  We liked him so we figured it was no big deal, so we forgave
his interloping.  However, once he started living with us it soon
became clear that he was not a good fit in the apartment.  First of
all, he was a mess.  He would always leave his dirty clothes in our
living room; his school books, old papers, fast food wrappers, etc
would pile up on our coffee table and he would make no effort to
clean it up even after he was asked.  We had an agreement of "I cook,
you do dishes" but he staunchly refused to put his plates in the
dishwasher and thus they would pile up in the sink for weeks at a
time until they were growing disgusting mold and smelling bad, or
until I got so sick of it that I did his dishes.

He had personal  hygiene issues too, as in he would shower MAYBE twice
a week and  would not do his laundry or clean up his room.  He would just take
dirty clothes off the floor and wear them to class.  When he was in
the apartment, he would take off his shirt and sleep on our couch
with our blankets even though he had his own bed in his own room.  It
got so bad that people would come over and blame the smell on the
dog.  He was also really moody and overly sensitive when we would
joke around with him; always complaining that all we did was make fun
of him, even when less than a minute before he would be making fun of
us.  He was also fond of both hitting on his friend's (myself
included) girlfriends, and bringing trashy girls over that he met at
Hooters or the shitty bar that he worked at.  One night he got drunk
and thought it would be funny to kick open all of the bedroom doors,
which ended up breaking them (surprise, surprise), and no matter what
we said to him, no matter how nicely we asked or how much I yelled,
he would not change his behavior.  The sad thing is he didn't think
he was doing anything wrong, or that we minded!  This lasted for a
year and a half.

So we told him that we were moving out of the apartment and into a
house, and that we thought it would be better if we weren't roommates
anymore.  We told him about the reasons we thought he wasn't a good
fit with us, and he got really upset and moved into one of his other
friend's houses (where he slept on the couch) before our lease ran
out.  The next two months were GREAT.  No gross sweaty guy on the
couch, no random junk laying around the living room, dishes in the
dishwasher, etc.  It was the way we had wanted to live in the first
place!  And then a couple days ago he got kicked off of his other
friend's couch, so with nowhere else to go, he moved back in with
us.  Needless to say, I am annoyed by this, especially since he is
passed out, shirtless, on the couch right now.
